Is Daredevil in the MCU?

Spoiler alert: there are spoilers for recent MCU properties ahead.

Yes, it would seem that Daredevil is in fact a part of the MCU. You see, when Daredevil premiered in 2015, it took off on Netflix and spawned three other shows that shared a universe. With the final season in 2018 and cancellation announced a month later, fans were wondering (and worried) about the future of Charlie Cox’s brilliant portrayal of the man without fear. This unease was even considering Marvel’s hints at a return.

However, as luck would have it, 2021 saw two major reveals that seem to confirm that Daredevil is now definitely part of the MCU.

The first was the appearance of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk in the Hawkeye Disney+ series. Vincent D’Onofrio himself confirmed it was the same character. The second biggest confirmation was when Charlie Cox appeared as Matt Murdock in the beginning of Spider-Man: No Way Home, along with showing off the character’s trademark reflexes.

Nothing has been firmly announced, but just this month Disney+ took over the Marvel Netflix shows, so there might be hope for not only Daredevil to return, but also Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Where the MCU might take Daredevil remains to be seen, but anything is possible with the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
